Antibacterial Surface Protection

Parklex® panels eliminate 99.9% of surface bacteria* within 24 hours, reducing the risk of bacterial surface transmission, preventing the build up of mould and extending the lifespan of your product.

The COVID-19 outbreak has led to increased awareness about surface contamination. Without sufficient antibacterial protection, germs can linger on surfaces and lead to build ups of mould, transmission of bacteria and deterioration of the material itself.

Our innovative production methods make Parklex® panels different. The silver ions that form part of their composition eliminate 99.9% of surface bacteria* within a 24 hour period. A special resin inserted during the production process provides an inbuilt chemical resistance, so our natural wood finishes will not be damaged by cleaning products – as long as Parklex®’s standard cleaning and maintenance recommendations are followed.

COVID-19 Protection

The natural chemical resistance of Parklex® panels means they are protected against potential damage caused by alcohol-based cleaners, including those used to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Greater Lifespan

Preventing bacterial surface contamination extends the lifespan of our products. As antibacterial protection is a natural part of our products, rather than an additional coating, Parklex® panels are ingrained with longer lasting protection.

Tested & Certified

The antibacterial properties of our panels have been verified by independent regulators, with tests carried out to certify their effectiveness in eliminating 99.9% of surface bacteria*.

  • Which surface bacteria are eliminated by Parklex panels?

*Our tests indicated that 99.9% of the bacteria Staphylococcus Aureus and Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) found on Parklex® panels were eliminated within 24 hours. These two bacteria were proposed by the organization under which our tests were carried out (ISO 22196: 2007).

  • What certification did Parklex receive to verify this?

In the tests that were run by the independent regulator, Parklex® panels eliminated 99.9% of surface bacteria (Staphylococcus Aureus and E. Coli) within 24 hours. You can view the relevant certificate by clicking on this link.

  • What makes Parklex panels antibacterial?

The silver ions found within our products are naturally antibacterial and have been used for hundreds of years to combat bacteria.

  • How are Parklex products chemically resistant?

We incorporate a special resin into the production process of our products, which means that they have a natural chemical resistance. This includes a resistance against potential damage caused by cleaning products.

  • Will Parklex materials be damaged by commercial cleaning products?

Because of the natural chemical resistance of our products, the natural wood finishes of Parklex® products will not be damaged by household, commercial or alcohol-based cleaning products – as long as Parklex®’s standard cleaning and maintenance recommendations are followed. These instructions can be found in the user manual of your Parklex® product.

  • How do Parklex products have lifelong protection against bacteria and chemicals?

Because the antibacterial and chemically-resistant elements of Parklex® products are part of their composition, the protection against these dangers is longer lasting. Although it is possible to apply coating to surfaces to provide them with similar protection, this is not as long lasting as our methods.
